The ‘Meet In Beijing’ Arts Festival 相约北京美国主宾国
Every spring, this festival takes place in the capital city as a meeting of artists of all kinds from China and countries worldwide, a cultural exchange covering everything from music - classical, pop and more - to dance, exhibitions and drama, ... expect the unexpected : ) In 2016, the festival runs from April 25 to May 30. Now in its 16th year, the festival will bring together nearly 400 Chinese artists and more than 400 international artists from 25 countries, including the United Kingdom, Spain and France. Canada will be this year's guest country of honor. As a taster, here are two wonderful performances from 2014 - first, a steel band in ChaoYang Park, second an unusual 'quartet' at the National Center for the Performing Arts (don't miss this if you love music) ... Lao She Tea House 老舍茶馆, BeiJing
Founded in 1988, Lao She Tea House was named after Mr. Lao She, a famous artist in China, and 'Tea House', one of his famous novels. In a spacious area of more than 2,600 square meters, the tea-house provides the flavor of old Beijing. You can watch wonderful performances of folk arts, music, acrobatics, cabaret and drama on any given day while enjoying famous teas, palace snacks, as well as traditional Beijing cuisine. Numerous celebrities and more than 2 million Chinese and foreign tourists have visited Lao She Tea-house since it was founded. It has been a window for exhibiting the national culture and a bridge that connects China with the world. Evening performances start at 7:30.
The DaMing Palace of the Tang dynasty 唐朝大明宫 – documentary
The DaMing Palace, 'Palace of Great Brilliance', was the imperial palace complex of the Tang dynasty (618 - 907 AD), located in its capital Chang'An. This palace served as the residence of the Tang emperors for more than 220 years. Today, it is designated as a National Heritage Site. The area of the remains is located northeast of Xi'An, ShaanXi province.

The musical fountains in Xi’An 西安, ShaanXi province
Located in the North Square by the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Every evening at 8pm; free. The fountains cover over 100,000 square meters and form the world's most spectacular fountain complex. There are 2000 sets of nozzles, over 3000 sets of lights plus a professional audio system. The huge site can be attended by over 10,000 people.
